Scholarships for students from Çardak, for ten years.
Every September we take applications from university students. Priority goes to those from Çardak and its villages; every complete application is reviewed. Results are published here in October.

University students from Çardak and its villages can apply. High-school scholarships ended in 2022. Last year's recipients fill in the same form: choose “Yes, last year”, then upload a current transcript and proof of enrolment.

Review and results
The board reviews applications together. Accepted students and the reserve list are published here; incomplete applications are not considered.
Monthly payment by bank transfer
Scholarships are paid by transfer only. Transcripts are renewed mid-year and at year end; a student who fails to renew or repeats a year is replaced from the reserve list.
Ten years
From a meeting of twenty-five townsfolk to today.
On 1 July 2013 twenty-five people met in Çardak; the name was put to a vote, so was the logo, and the doors opened on 30 November. What has been done since, year by year.
Founding meeting on 1 July, with the mayor and district governor present. Opening on 30 November.
Free maths and science classes with the Public Education Centre. February: first 21 scholarship students. December: joined the Aegean Associations Union.
First general assembly of the Istanbul branch. First memorial forest sign.
First planting site allocated by the Regional Forestry Directorate; first saplings planted.
Second memorial forest. Scholarship students up to 30.
Fourth memorial forest: 12,000 saplings on 6 hectares. Design & Skills Workshops opened with the district governorate. 60 scholarship students.
Tenth year. The book A History of Çardak in the Light of Archive Documents. Çardak Middle School reunion.
New website.

The Çardak history book, an old photo archive and "Çardak Is Everywhere" — pictures sent by townsfolk from across Turkey and abroad. Our third job: remembering the hometown, and reminding.

How we work
- Everyone is a volunteer; nobody is paid.
- The office is lent by the municipality, meetings are held in its wedding hall — no rent.
- Every lira raised goes to scholarships and saplings.
- Strictly non-political; a founding principle.

2023–24 scholarship results
40 students, 10 new. 20 graduated at the end of 2022–23; three failed to renew documents, three repeated a year.
2023–24 scholarship applications open
Applications 1–20 September 2023, university students only, online only.
2022–23 scholarship results
54 students, 18 new. Ten scholarships funded by Yaşar Çevik and Mehmet Akdeniz. No more high-school scholarships from this year.

One pack of cigarettes a month.
That's what the founding letter said: smoke one pack less and give the saving to the hometown. Ten years on it is still the same — every scholarship is paid from donations by townsfolk.
